Blog

Welcome to the GoreDean Blog!

When I am in one of the GoreDean stores, I am always asked the most interesting questions.  Sometimes I wish I had had more time to answer some of them.  So why not take a little time each day and do my best for friends and customers ( better than friends).

If you would like a rudimentary appraisal or want to know what an antique piece was used for…just send a photo (goredean@aol.com) and I will post the answer here.   If you have a decorating dilemna – send a photo and I will give you my best advise and maybe another decorator reading this might chime in as well.

For all other questions, just comment on any part of the site and it will get to me. And hopefully,  I will have something in my bag of tricks that will be of help.  Don’t be shy about suggesting products or stores for readers to try. In the meantime,  do something fabulous !            DEB

  • The young brides are loving the Gore Dean look and they are finding their “style” with Gore Dean..it is wonderful to see their faces light up when their selections come to life….

  • Not only are you a talented designer, have a FAB store but your HA HA section is the absolute BEST!

Your website is a gift to us all. I was thinking that it would be wonderful for you to have your own television show? Or perhaps a book? Your talent should be explored!

  • I am trying to buy some bedside lamps, but my tables are small Chinese tanzus. Is there a rule of thumb to follow about the size of the lamp(more so height than width)in contrast to the size of the table..Any info you could give me would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

  • I was wondering, your name is so political, are you any relation to the Tennessee Gores, Al and Tipper? or to Howard Dean? Also, could there be some connection between the Gores and Gore Vidal? I saw a wonderful write up about a reception that you had for Mr. Vidal in your Georgetown Store. Thanks for any info. By the way, I love the Marbury sofa.
